To build, host, or manage your website, we need appropriate access to your domain and hosting environment. Here is how to grant it securely.
What Access We Need
Depending on your project scope, we typically need one or more of the following:
Domain Registrar Access
GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc., to update DNS records and connect your domain.
Hosting Access
If you have existing hosting (cPanel, WP Engine, etc.), we need login credentials or a temporary admin account.
DNS Management
Ability to add A records, CNAME records, and TXT records for email authentication.
SSL Certificate Access
If your SSL is managed externally, we need access to renew or reissue certificates.
How to Share Access Securely
- Create a temporary admin account. Do not share your personal login. Create a separate account for our team.
- Use a password manager link. Share credentials via a secure one-time link (e.g., 1Password, LastPass shared item) rather than email.
- Revoke after launch. Once the project is complete, revoke or change the temporary credentials.
Prefer not to share login credentials?
You can make the DNS changes yourself. We will provide step-by-step instructions with the exact records to add. Just let your project manager know.
