Workflows are the visual heartbeat of your automations. They allow you to map out complex, multi-step customer journeys using an intuitive drag-and-drop builder.
1. Creating Your First Workflow
To get started, navigate to Automations > Workflows and click Create Workflow. You can choose to start from scratch or use one of our pre-built industry templates.
Define Your Trigger
Every workflow needs a starting point. Click "Add New Workflow Trigger" at the top of the builder to define what action brings a contact into this sequence.
Add Actions
Click the "+" icon below your trigger to add actions. You can send emails, SMS, update opportunity stages, add tags, or send internal notifications to your team.
Publish and Test
Always toggle your workflow from "Draft" to "Publish" and use the "Test Workflow" button to run a test contact through the sequence before making it live.
2. Advanced Logic: If/Else Branches
You don't have to send everyone down the exact same path. By using the If/Else action, you can split your workflow based on specific conditions.
- Behavioral Splits: If a contact clicked a link in the previous email, send them down Path A. If they didn't, send them down Path B.
- Data Splits: If a contact has the tag "VIP", route them to a personal sales rep. If not, route them to general support.
Pro-Tip
Use the "Wait" step strategically. Instead of blasting three emails in one day, insert a Wait step configured to "Wait 2 Days" or "Wait until Monday at 9:00 AM" to ensure your communications land at the optimal time.
